Hi all

Well we have got about 6inches of snow here in West Malling. Kent which looks like it is slowly melting…. I do love it, but have started worrying about getting to work and meetings tomorrow as I really hate driving in the snow! Fingers crossed it will all be gone.

I was looking through some blogs this morning and saw Saturated Canary Challenge Blog had a Red, Pink and White challenge and I had the perfect card that I made last week, sitting on my shelf ready for photos! So here she is.

Afternoon friends

I promised that I would take some photos and share my craft area with you all…. so beware photo overload ahead!

I don't know about you but I am forever re-arranging things and finding new storage ideas, so I wanted to share a few with you today also.

Most of my units in my craft area are from Ikea – SO here we go

My craft area. My dining room table provides the base, however I think it has only been used for its original purpose once since we have lived here! The LARGE unit on the table is Ikea and this is my new purchase. My husband calls it the Command Centre….lol. As you can see in the middle is my laptop, and various hand creams and tissues and I have a wireless keyboard so that I can move it out of the way when crafting. The blue and black drawers are from Tesco direct about a year ago, and I have 4 sets – 2 each side. The only other thing on my desktop is my spinney pen holder which is great and holds so much.

So on to the cupboards

The left cupboard holds my snippets of paper all sorted in colours and stored in A5 boxes, and the 2 drawers here hold my white card in the bottom and my colours Stampin up card in the top one. I also have a box of stuff I am working that sits nicely on top of the card.

On to the right side cupboard and this one now holds all of my 6x6 papers. I spent lots of time when I was off at Christmas, snipping my papers that I had started into 6x6 or 5x5 and then I am able to grab them quickly when needed…. I still have a little room left in this cupboard for a few more pads I think

The top drawer at the right holds all my tools so glue gun, heat gun, dymo, crimper, paper cutter to name a few.

The bottom right drawer is my colour inspiration! It is full of wild orchid flowers…. all shapes, sizes and colours. I love to open this draw and stare!

This little pod is the most used – it hold my really useful box of promarkers and spectrum noir pens, which is easily turned the right way up before opening, but allows me to store them on their sides. The magazine holders holds my pre folded card stock, cutting board and then just next to this is my X-cut guillotine which is fab. On top my wet wipes and kitchen roll….. of course!

Then in the pod next to that is my first craft storage purchase, a little set of 5 drawers from Rymans. I would love some more of these but they don't seem to sell them any more and the ones they do sell are not as sturdy.

Here is what I keep in the drawers – firstly my dew drops, mementos and other small ink pads.

Then a selection of my most used ink pads

Then all my adhesive pads, stamping blocks etc

Finally my Glues and random stuff!

This is a lovely memo holder that I bought at the range when shopping for Christmas presents….. you have to treat yourself don't ya! This is hung on the right end of my unit and I use it for when my cards are drying and waiting to be sealed up. This is a lovely birthday card from my friend Louise, she know all about my kitties obsession! It was my birthday yesterday and I was 38…. tut ah well at least still in my 30’s just.

On top of the unit and the main reason for buying something like this, is so that I can get my printer off the table and my big shot off the floor – and also my daylight lamp now sits right above me which is fab and even better for taking photos so her is hoping that they will start to get better with practice!

Okay…. now if you are totally bored I apologies – but it if you are like me, once you have seen the start you want to see where everything else goes…. so if you are ready – in the blue drawers we go

Right side first – top drawer….. GEMS! yes hundreds of them, but always need more lol and my pencil sharper lives there too.

Then we have glitters, spray and shines, chalk mist and glimmer mists, glamour dusts and mini misters…

Then we have stickles, embossing powders, chalks, stamp cleaners and a few small stencils

This drawer has Stampin up ink pads, distress inks pad, Adirondack ink pads, and then brushes and sponges and daubers for distressing

The bottom 2 drawer contain envelopes and plastic wallets for packaging.

Behind that the second lot of blue drawers contain

…..card….card….card….card and papers….card and papers….and flowers!

I store my primas in these plastic A5 folders from Tesco's, as I love that I can see the different styles and colours at a glance which helps to choose!

Lastly on my desk is my spinney pen holder… you NEED one of these lol

This holds all my Prisma pencils, my Koh-i-noor pencils, my gels pens, my paint brushes, scissors, poky tools, glue pens, ruler, hammer, tweezers and then if you look they have these really cute little drawers at he bottom which I use for punched out shapes, brads, post its – etc. I LOVE it.

Okay I am nearly there…. I do have one more craft area to share which is my unit with my stamps and 12x12 papers and other stuff…. but I think you will have left me by now, so will post the pics and if you want to know what anything is please ask.

And just finally I wanted to share my view from my craft desk. I am so lucky that my hubby has let me take over our dining space, which is joined on to the lounge, so not only do I get to craft in my living room, I get to spend time with my hubby who spends most of his time shooting people on the TV…. (Call of Duty 26 i think…) hey ho!

Inspired

I have today been inspired by a very lovely friend of mine, after reading her blog, to make sure that this year you not only see my creations but also see me. I am not a big writer, or talker even, but EJ’s blog has given me the key to open up and tell you all about me…. about my best friend my husband John… about my lovely family that all live in Sheffield, and I miss every day, about John’s lovely family who we are lucky to share the same neighbourhood, about my lovely totally wicked friends, about my beautiful cats… and much more too!

Some days I am sure that I will waffle, others will be quiet, but I will try try try to post a little news every week. I can only share a little about my job as I am a HR officer at Kent County Council, and therefore this will be limited… and probably boring to most of you! I live in a lovely part of Kent, called West Malling and get to travel to many places in Kent with my job…. I love seeing new places, meeting new people, learning new things.

Most of my days are filled with work, and my evenings with a little blog surfing, Pintrest browsing, occasionally shopping and catching up on Facebook with family and friends. When I can I make cards…. normally just for me to send to family and friends, but I admit I am the worst for remembering to post cards, even if I have made them weeks in advance, so this year we have it in triplicate! Diary entry in yahoo….. work diary in handbag… and now alarm on my new (smiles very happily) phone! However, I am going to try and sell some cards this year and have set up my Etsy Shop…. we shall see what happens there.

I will try and make this more interesting with photo’s and links, but would love to know what you want to know also!

So my first sharing post has to include feedback to EJ…. If I had to describe you, I would say, you are intelligent, fun, exciting, brave, knowledgeable, witty, welcoming, warm, beautiful, talented and inspiring…. Thank you for sharing your beautiful words with me and allowing me to be a part of your life. I would love to see photos of your inspiration on your blog, what makes you want to write, I followed a few links and read a lot of great articles… but I want to read your articles… I am sure that this will come, but yes I want to see what you have written and what you have been up to. Looking forward to seeing you at book club…. I have some reading to do, I am only up to chapter 3.

Hot pink Birthday

I know…. just like buses!
I have been crafting quite a bit this week and have decided I really need to start selling some more things….. and not just keep buying!
So…this card…..

Rosie Posy, a Lily of the Valley stamp, coloured with copics and prisma pencils, then matted onto lime green card and hot pink and green papers. I don't know who these papers are by as I have been sorting out my snippets and these were in there.
The boarder is a BBP Just the edge cardstock strip, and the sentiment is from the computer.

Another Christmas Card… or two

Afternoon all

I love this card, but don’t think that I will be able to make too many like this as it does take ages to punch out the little snowflakes – but is really easy to put together and I have to say – I do like the effect! I have case’d this from a you tube video HERE from a lovely ladies called Pinky! I added a few random snowflakes in the background, but this does also look great on a pure white background.

My next card is a forever friends. I think I got this little fella in a bag of bits from my mother in law – who too is a card maker and has a new blog HERE.

The paper was a scrappy bit so really have no idea where from . The flower and sentiment from Craftwork Cards with lots of lovely green beads in the centre for some texture.

Blinging Christmas Card

Evening all

I have been really busy getting my Christmas cards together, and then this morning a little packet of goodies arrived and I could not wait to play!

I have also been having a play with ‘my craft studio’ and put together this text box case’d from a Stamping up stamp Jolly Jingles which I would love, but I cant make the roller wheelies work for me, so I thought I would have a go at making my own and I love it…. can see a few more designs like this being in production

The ‘bling’ is actually a sheet of mesh and is not really gems, but it looks great! I purchased this from a lady on Esty called Jennings644, who has some lovely things.

Right back to it… still lots of cards to be made and only 11 weeks to Christmas eve!

Evening to you all

Just a quick post today to let you all know that the lovely Loops has the most fantastic candy as she has reached an amazing 10,000 hits on her blog in less that 3 MONTHS! But then when you look at her blog, you will certainly know why!

Loops is the queen of crafty flowers and makes wonderful creations that inspire even little me to have a go! have a look at her latest flower – I LOVE the colours – and I NEED these!

Less is More 1000 card challenge Part 6

Hee Hee!

Yep one more to add to the mix!

Submission 6 – I have wanted to emboss this wording stamp for ages and tonight I finally had a go and WOW I love it. Stamped with Brown VersaColour and then embossed with Enchanted Gold ‘Heat it up’ powder it has left the most lovely chocolate/orange/golden colour font. The papers are from First Edition Festive Treats and I think I will be making a few more of this one!

Thank you Chrissie and Mandy for pushing me into starting my Christmas cards, but also to everyone for making this challenge so enjoyable and for your wonderful comments!

Hiya

Okay I am back with another couple…. Sorry for the lack of wording yesterday but I had spent nearly a hour playing with my photo’s, putting in links, telling a few jokes ha ha ha and Bl**dy Blogger decided to crash! I know I should know better! but I was tired and didn't know if I would get time to blog them today!

So a bit of background for anyone who has missed it

Less is More is at week 33 challenge and as they have had over 1000 followers the lovely ladies Chrissie and Mandy decided to challenge us BIG style and see if we could make over 1000 cards! well girls how much do we LOVE this challenge! Anything goes as long as it remains CAS….. so

Submission 4 – a recycled card – lovely blue papers from Dovecraft Let it snow pack and the Circle snowflake from last years Christmas card. The lovely little snowflake stamps are from one of the Fizzy moon sets…. I know that this will be used over and over!

My papers are from First Edition pad….. can’t remember which pad though sorry guys! Punch is EK and boy is it big! needs a drawer on it’s own but I love it and perfect for added jewel and pearls to really bling a card up!

Missing in Action or just a TERRIBLE BLOGGER!!

Yes I am the worst blogger, I know, no excuses I am just terrible!
Do I get forgiven for showing you this wicked card? Please Please say yes!
The moment I saw this BLOG I knew that I would need to buy the wonderful images, so I bought 3 one day and 2 the day after and I know that I will be back for more! You must go and visit http://saturatedcanary.blogspot.com/

I printed out 4 – Penny, Peggy Sue, Nevaeh and wedding day – and here is the lovely Penny in Blue! The papers are g.c.d Studios, The Lydia Collection which I picked up for £2.00!!! the other week from ECAP and the image is coloured with Promarkers, Flexi's and Spec’s as I was having a real good colouring sessions this week!

I tried to emboss around the edge, but my pen was not really up to the job and got a bit of a mess, so wont be trying this for a while, but I could not bear to ‘bin’ this image, so I used the ‘dotty technique’ that I have seen on lovely Coops Blog, to try and hide some of the damage!
I will get around to checking out some blogs this weekend, as nothing planned how lovely is that – oh well washing, ironing and hoovering don’t count do they!

a little cheating….

Hello all

I needed a super quick card to get in the post last week, and came up with this one. The cheating is because it was a lovely birthday card that I received last year but without any of the colouring, gems or glitter as that has all been added by me!

The orange and bright pink work lovely together and will definitely try this combination again.

Pink and Blue LOTV Challenge

Well this is the first time I have entered a LOTV challenge, and I really have no idea why as I LOVED doing this card… I just wished I had more time so that I could play along with more.

I finally got my prismas also, so was able to play with them…. and I love them, so easy to get a much better image.

Never mind my niece wont care as this is for her birthday.

Flowers….

Hi everyone

I have had lots of fun yesterday with some paper, a score board and some glue….. no change there then!

What do you think?

By taking a 12inch by 2.5inch piece of paper and scoring, then folding at ever 1/4 inch, then joining and that's it! easy as pie! The one at the back needs a nice big button on, but I cant find the right colour at the moment!

This one it the firmest and was made from vellum, which folded really easy.

These two are smaller and made with just a 6inch piece but when you try and join it, it does not quite fit, but if you then snip every other fold, you get this lovely variation! Not sure if you can see in the photo but on one I snipped the valley and the other the peak – i love them both.

So come one – show me your attempts – mine next ones will be much better as my new glue gun arrived today and that means i will have to give it a try this weekend.

Greek Wedding….

A wedding card to show you today, made for a friend of mine for her Greek friends. I really really enjoyed making this one and spending hours edging all the flowers and leaves in gold pen.

The paper was a download, so sorry I am not sure where from and the flowers a mixture of die cuts from nesties and punches.

Another baby boy….

Card of course! I do love babies but only when I can give them back to their mummy and I can go home to my cats and my crafts! I really don’t know how you mummies find time to do crafting with those little bundles of sweetness!

This is a lovely LOTV stamp which I have coloured with koh-i-noor pencils. The sentiment is Papermania and has been stamped twice to give a shadow effect. Looking now I may have to add some gems…..!

LOTV Masterclass inspired card

Hey

I am as surprised as you are to see another card from me today…. and I even scheduled this one, so fingers crossed!

This is a LOTV die cut which again are cheating as they are already coloured, but I love them for these quick cards.

The lovely papers are what I got from the masterclass – as I did not make the card up on the day as I preferred to do some more colouring practice! I am sure that Bev said that they were from Nitwits collections. The flowers are of course as always from Wild Orchid Crafts and the sentiment from Craftwork cards.

I know I know how shocking I have been, but life has just been so busy and I would much rather look at your lovely blogs and cards rather that sit and talk to myself as I write lol

This is a lovely baby boy image from cuddly buddly and the rest just printed from the computer. My bunting was also just drawn in word and letters added! The paper is from a Forever Friend set I think…. not 100% on that!

Evening all

A lovely friend of mine told me this week about Windows Live Writer, that I can connect to my Blogger account and use to write my blogs….. Well here goes. At first glance it was easy to set up, and I can see the lovely blog header as I am typing this, and it is as if I am typing in Microsoft word e.g. I have the same headers and can view text and sizing….. and it spells checks as I go…. HMM seems to good at the moment!

Okay so let have a go at adding a photo….

Yep easy to resize and centre it just like a word document… i am liking it… Mog also approves!

Just wanted to post 2 little cards that I have made tonight, I am really trying to concentrate on the Clean and Simple look but could not resist a couple of gems! The ladies at the Less is More Challenge week 9 asked us to design a card with 'a touch of red'. I know mine is JUST a touch of red..... but it is there just! ! ! :o)

Both of these digi are from DigiStamp Boutique and they have a April offer on the lovely handbags!

Both cards are coloured with Copics.... looking forward to learning how to do that correctly and the LOTV colouring masterclass in a few weeks time!

Sorry about the rubbish photos.... tut maybe that will be my next workshop!

Less in More Week 8 - Sketch

Good Afternoon

I could not come up with the goods for last week’s challenge, and I have never followed a sketch before, so really wanted to spend some time today trying to get my creative side flowing! Again the idea for the Less is More Challenge is to have a clean and simple card, but to follow the rules for each week. This week is a DL card, (A tall thin card) and using the sketch below:-

For this card I used a lovely little stamp from LOTV called Baby Blanket. I have quite a few friends with babies due this year, so think I will make a few more of these in different colours! Coloured with pencils and the sentiment is double stamped for a shadow effect.

I have been playing with Digi images this week, and downloaded Page Plus which is sooooooo easy to use and perfect for pasting images and moving around the page. My few attempts need some colour, so will let you see as soon as they are done.

Hope you are all well, and gonna make a cup of tea and start looking at all your wonderful entries and I just wanted to say thank you to you all for your lovely comments on my cards, it really does make my day! :o)

Pampered Pets

A little card from me today, made from freebies with the Creativity magazine this month.

Papers from the Pampered pets range as is the little cutest cat and sentiment. Gems from my stock and the die cut shape behind kitty is a Big Scallop Oval nestie.

Off to lunch with the inlaws and family so will be back to have a nosey at your creations later!

Less is More Challenge WK 6

Evening all

Okay I admit I am a little slow at taking up this Less is More Week 6 challenge but I SO LOVE IT! Have been following Mandi for a while, and WOW! I love her work, so I have had a go this evening. This is the first image that came to my mind when I saw the challenge of one layer, off the edge and no score lines. I did have to have some glamour dust - hope that is acceptable! (there is a little smudge but think I have got away with it just lol)

This image was from Kanban via QVC, and so is the sentiment stamp. Card is a A6 white hammered from the Papermill.

Christening Card for Lily Mae and Take That!

Evening all

Just wanted to post the 2 cards that I have finished recently, both commission pieces for my favourite customers!

Firstly a Christening Card for Alyson who is going to be Godparents along with her other half Dean to Lily Mae weekend just gone.

Just lots of lovely pearlised card and gems here. Those tiny flowers are stickers that I have had for years but they totally made the card come alive when I added them.

My next card is for Annie, I hope your daughter has not started reading my blog, otherwise she needs to stop NOW or she will see her birthday card!

Mmmm what fun I had searching the Internet for take that photos... :o)

I did add a couple of gems after taking this photo, but you get the idea from here.

Candy for scrapbookers and card makers......

Good evening all

I am still busy tidying to fit my craft bits into my new storage and came across this box which I know that I will never be able to use all of these so would like to find them a new home.

These kits was bought from QVC about 4 years ago, and then my mother in law gave me her's too! hence the reason there is looooaaaadddddddsssssssss!

Some are cards and others are chipboard.........would never be able to list them all, so have tried to capture in photos. Here are a couple but I have attached a large number of photos to my Picasa account for your viewing.......

I will draw on Sunday so that I can get them posted early next week.

Happy Birthday Julie

Good Evening all

Just got time to quickly post this card that I have just finished..... as I need to also do one for my niece Rose-Ella tonight so that I can get that in the post in the morning.

This card is a commission for the lovely Annie for her daughter Julie. Her birthday is not for a while yet, but got quite a few to get made for February and March so trying to get moving. Also finally got my new crafting space sorted which is great as lots of drawers for bits and can see the TV also!

For this card I have used lovely secret tilda coloured with copics and promarkers (I still need the full set of copics - hubby if you read this!) Flowers are a mixture of Wild Orchid Crafts and stuff from my stash! Border flower punch is a new purchase this week, from BGPayne Crafts and is new from Xcut and only 5.99 at this website! Craftwork cards provides the lovely birthday message and her name has simply been printed, edged in blue and stamped with swirls, then embossed.

I would love to hear your comments.

Wedding Table Names

Good evening

A little while ago I agreed to make some table names for a lovely lady Jenny, who was getting married in December this year. She was having a very christmassy theme with the venue being decorated with reindeer's (not real ones!) and lots of glitter! She came up with the idea of having reindeer names for her table names, and I offered to help!

This is what I came up with...... I love them, and again found it so hard to give away lol

What do you think? The stamps was from Elzybells which has so sadly closed down... although I think I have bought nearly every stamp in the collection!
Rudolph is definitely my favourite!

Right must get on and make birthday cards.... only 7 for January!

Christmas Cards

Evening all

I think I did really well making over 400 Christmas cards this year, a couple of orders, some for charity and the rest for me..... however I did not do so well in taking photos of my designs, so I thought I would share the few that I did photograph and then I also have a reference point for next year as the orders have started already :o)

The first three below are using the lovely James bear from Lily of the Valley - I still have about a hundred of these coloured in, so will be using him again for sure. Sentiments are also Lily of the Valley and the first card has been cuttlebug'd with Snowflake design.

This one is made using a lovely poinsettia stamp from Dawn Bibby collection, which was stamped onto red card and decoupaged to create the height. Sentiment is from Paula Pascual lovely stamp collection which I purchased from Sir Stampalot - fabulous service!

Forever Friends decoupage - my card for my mum and dad - lots of glitter here

Not very traditional this one - put could not stop thinking about this design when I saw Sarita's card here - WOW her blog is DIVINE! I spent hours drooling over her wonderful designs, and had to have a little go and this one, as I had some similar stamps by Hero Arts. I was not so happy with how mine turned out, but I will be working of something similar for next year for sure.

This lastly, this one was my favourite design last year, and had to do a couple this year just cause I wanted too!

Wanted to share this wedding card with you tonight that I made again for a commission. I didn't want to part with this, I loved it.

The idea was found on a blog, but really don't remember who or where..... but please if it is you, let me know as I would love to link to your site as it certainly gave me the inspiration to do this card.

I have started trying to keep details of my cards, so that I can so little explanations like you wonderful bloggers do.... I really don't know where you get the time though, I seem to be spending all my evening blog hoping and drooling over your cards!

Good evening all

I have been such a bad blogger, but now I have decided that it is time to put my heart into my crafting and therefore redesigned my blog, ready to show off my cards and designs.

I have just one more day left at work, then time to switch off and enjoy Christmas with my family and friends.

I have a card to show that I finished today, and order for the lovely Annie for her son - had to do some research for this one as the brief was Halo and Xbox..... something I know very little about, but I do like how the card turned out. The font was downloaded from 1001fonts.com and is the actual Halo 3 font, so I was quite lucky there. The background was an image for the Internet, which I changed to a grey scale image, and then a little Xbox logo was needed to finish it off.

I have also decided today that I need to do some kind of photography course, as I really don't like any of the photo's on my blog, so need to look into that as a new year project!

I have lots of cards on order, to I will make sure that I visit and hope to also start taking part in some of the challenges..... wonder if my boss would consider me going part time!

I know that I have been AWOL forever, but have a few things to sort out....started a new job which is great and lots of fun, but also back at college now for my final year and really finding it hard to keep motivated! lol

Good afternoon all Thought that I just show you a couple of new cards I did last week. I did do a number of mothers day cards but was in such a rush to deliever them to friends, that I forgot to take some photos, so will try and get them to send them to me. The first one is a commission for a elderly parent in law - whos simply request was flowers ! So I had lots of fun looking atmy huge collection and trying to find suitable colours. I do love how this one turned out. The second was for a lady at work, who love is her garden. I dont have many of the Sarah Kay images, but i did really like colouring in this one, so think I might need to purchase some more! Hello all I cant believe how long it is since I wrote a post but I have been around, just busy with college and stuff. Hello all

It has been a while since I posted, but not because I have not been around just because all my time has been taken up by looking at all the fab blogs that are around...

I have made a few more cards and also now got loads and loads of ideas that I want to use, I also think that I should get involved in some of the challenges that are around as I do sometimes find it hard to just sit down and make a card, but with the sketch challenges that I have been looking at, I feel that I get a lot of inspiration, so next weekend I am going to have a go!

Here what i have been up to this week.

Card 1

I love this stamp... This card was not made for anything in particular just wanted to use the image that I had coloured in. The Stamp is from Elzybells and card and ribbon from my bits.

Card 2

I bought this stamp quite a while ago and coloured her in, but the image is quite big so had to make an A5 card to make sure that she did not look out of place. The stamp is from Lily & Milo by Rachelle Anne Miller, paper from DCWV, flowers and ribbon from stash.

Card 3

This is made from one of my favourite stamps at the moment. This is Martha with flowers from Spiral Whispers, by the very very talented Kerry Steptoe. The papers from DCWV and bits from my stash.

Evening

This one again was made as a commission for a couple celebrating their engagement. The theme was holidays and this couple loved to jet set, lets hope they like it!

A card made for my husband for our 2nd wedding anniversery. One thing that is great about having a mum in law that also makes cards is that I always get a lovely card in return, as he asks Mum to make one for me!

First cards uploaded

Evening all, just finished a couple of cards and thought that I should really start to add some for you all to see....

Firstly is a card made with my new Spiral Whisper stamp, designed by Janet Roberts. I am sure that I will have many many more for you to see in the next few weeks as these stamps are fab!

My Second card is for my nephew's 1st birthday this week, which I nearly did not remember as I must have forgot to put in on my calender as the start of the year..... thank you Mum C for the reminder! This card was made by cutting out the number 1 from a 12x12 paper that I had and matting and layering to get the effect. I am quite pleased with how this one turned out.

And lastly, a commission that I did for a new baby..... I am sure that new baby cards will always be my favourite, they really make me smile as I am doing them!
